INNOVATIVE MINI GRANTS

Deadline: November 29th, 2014

If you have an original, innovative mini grant idea, and need one-time start-up funds, please consider applying for a grant in October 2014. Grants are between $500.00 and $1,000.00. They are not for existing clubs or programs. They are not for individual student attendance at conferences or participation in individual group programs. We do not grant money to purchase food, lunch, or snacks. We do not generally purchase equipment, books, or computer devices unless there are matching funds from other sources.

What we do is grant funds for innovative ideas like Run Like A Girl, which is not only a program for running but building girls’ self esteem. If you have an idea that will enhance and support the curriculum, please be sure to contact us for a grant application.

Run Like A Girl Program

Penn Wood Foundation gave a $750.00 grant to Mrs. O’Boyle, an Ardmore Avenue teacher, and she started a pilot program for girls in grades 4, 5, 6 to discover the joy of physical fitness through running and its connection to self esteem, making friends, team camaraderie and getting along.

The girls will participate in two 5K runs. One on Memorial Day in Lansdowne, and the other on May 17th in Upper Darby.

If you are interested in obtaining a grant, it must be for an innovative project (not an existing one). Please submit your proposals by completing the grant application.

Penn Wood Foundation 2014 Scholarship Application

The Penn Wood Foundation will award eight (8) scholarships at the June 2014 Commencement in the amount of $500.00 to graduating seniors.

The following are the submission requirements for the Penn Wood Foundation
Scholarships:

• Applicants must be cleared for graduation by Friday May 16, 2014.
• Applicants must be pursuing higher education at a certified college, university, technical school or military service.
• Acceptance must be confirmed by guidance counselor or teacher by Friday, May 16, 2014.
• Applications must be completed and sent by Monday, May 19, 2014. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
