How You Can Help

With cuts to public education, it is even more important for individuals and corporations to make personal choices to support public schools, and through the Penn Wood Education Foundation, we need your help! Because the Foundation operates independently of the district, it is only with the dedicated efforts of volunteers that our mission is successful.

FACULTY

The William Penn School District faculty are generally responsible for applying for and administering the Innovators mini-grants. We need you to become involved with the Foundation and bring us ideas to help us to enhance our students’ education.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS

The Foundation is interested in creating bridges between our students and the community at large. We want to identify resources within the community that can help us achieve our mission by volunteering, sponsoring or mentoring.

We are always looking for dedicated to serve on our Board of Directors. If you are interested, please send your contact information to president@pennwoodfoundation.org.

BUSINESSES

Did you know that, instead of paying taxes to the state, your business can donate its tax burden to the Penn Wood Foundation as an Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC).

Businesses must be authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of PA; be subject to taxes such as Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, etc; and be approved by the State to make contributions under this program.

Under the EITC program, a “contribution” from a business is a donation of cash or the net cost of donated personal property or services. For more details visit the: PA Department of Community and Economic Development EITC.
